Knowing that I was coming to the beautiful state of Washington for Christmas and knowing that it would be wet, rainy and cold I decided to venture out with some of my friends to do one more hike before the Christmas Holidays. The sky was a bit over cast and not as warm as I would have liked it to be, but still any day hiking in Hong Kong is a beautiful day.
Nadine and I had to take the MTR subway up into what is known as the New Territories, it is not on Hong Kong Island but on the mainland. After about 45 mins spent on a subway, our good friend Angela picked us up and drove us to the trail head. (Which was actually between two old buildings - but that is how things are done in China!)
The hike started out slow and then we had a short but decent climb to the waterfall, we were talking and taking a little too much reaching the falls. So, as soon as we arrived we snapped a few pictures. Since Nadine had to get back to an appointment, she and I ran down the trail back to the road. Now, I have been hiking for a few months and running too but I reached the road I thought my lungs were going to pop and my legs were going to turn to jelly!
Lucky for us we were able to hail a taxi, he probably stopped because it looked like I needed some medical aid, but he did stop and took us back to the MTR station.
Great day, great friends, and a great hike!

Angela, Heidi and Shauna - ready to hit the trail, which starts between th two buildings!

Nadine (my friend who has taken me all over Hong Kong Hiking), Me(do I get to capitalize me I am a proper noun, right. English was not my strongest subject!) and Shauna! Lets Roll!
