We woke up this morning at 5:45 am ready to start our journey/move to Hong Kong. We should have known that things were not going to go smooth from the start. We scheduled the Courtyard van to take us to the airport at 6:30, fine so far, we were outside with our 8 bags to check and 4 carry-ons waiting for the van at 6:25, we are doing great! There was a mess up a the front desk and they had sent the van on a short trip - but the driver got lost and didn't return until 7:05 - they changed drivers (probably a good idea!) and we loaded everything and off we went.
We arrived with plenty of time and found a sky cab named "Saeed" who help us with our bags. United was the airline for the first leg of our journey to the San Francisco airport. We got in line and then a United "worker" and I use that term loosely came and informed us that the flight had been cancelled! Not delayed but cancelled! See what I mean, we should have known things we not to go as planned! After moving our 12 bags from one end of the airport to the other and back again and a long 2 hour wait in line, we were rebooked on a United flight to SFO. Unfortunately as you guessed we arrived in SFO at 2:10 just as our flight to Hong Kong was departing. So here we sit waiting till 1:30 AM for the next flight! It is going to be a long day - but then this is an adventure. What I have learned is that the best of plans can and will be changed by unforeseen forces, you have got to learn to go with the flow. And I am flowing!! Next stop Hong Kong, we hope! LOL

Seven Days
In exactly one week I will be leaving the United States and moving to Hong Kong. The past 5 months I have been a holding pattern just waiting for the landing and I would have to say that the energy level is running low. As the days get closer it is getting harder and harder to come to terms with all of the emotions that are stirred up by this move. I have talked with friends, some I haven't spoken to in 30 years, that have called to support me, to thank me, to laugh with me, to talk to me, and to love me. For this I am grateful, I realized that time and distance won't change relationships, that was a comforting thought and makes this change in my life easier, knowing that I have friends that care.
